Deschamps Mat Systems, Inc. has designed an angled mat called a “Wing” which is set a 45 degree angle to the main aisle.

Free flow, good alternative to “T” configuration
Multiple sets of wings are placed off the main aisle. Doing so allows people to stand off the main aisle for others to pass by and traffic congestion at the intersection of the “T”.

Privacy and family gathering
The wing mat allows physically challenged individuals to get off the main aisle of the walkway and gather with friends and family for privacy and ocean viewing. The white lanes on the edges are necessary for visually impaired persons.

Turtle nests friendly configuration
With the 45 degree angle, hatchlings can follow the mat through the angle and be directed to the water as the angle is less pronounced than a “T” with a 90 degree angle.

Easy connection to the main aisle
The wing is attached to the main aisle with a connector for a smooth transition. This eliminates any tripping concerns associated with “butting” mats together.
